(Take The Sky is about a winged being who has their wings clipped off by a cruel enemy, and ends up chained to the ground. The song expresses their longing to grow new wings and return to the sky. They cry out for someone to cut away the bonds that hold them down.
Take The Sky is about falling and rising again. It is a song about having your wings “clipped off” and the pain & reward of growing them back - a fearful wonder.)
lyrics
Taken hostage from skies where I once flew
My heart is chained and my wings removed
Tethered to the earth, taking undesired root
The heavy, fettered birth from seed to bitter fruit
For my wings I wait in the silence
Keeping my eyes trained on the horizon
When they bloom from me, I’ll fly away
I’ll take the sky, I’ll take the sky today
Sever the ties, the stitches that they used
To bind me down, to serve the ground
I’m ready now
For my wings to bloom
For my wings I wait in the silence
Keeping my eyes trained on the horizon
When they bloom from me, I’ll fly away
I’ll take the sky, I’ll take the sky today
Fly away
Run, and fall, and rise again
For no fall is ever the end
Lift me up to where I belong
Let the weak say “I am strong”
For my wings I wait in the silence
Keeping my eyes trained on the horizon
When they bloom from me, I’ll fly away
I’ll take the sky, I’ll take the sky today
No imprisonment to circumstance
Hope is endless
No destiny but liberty
Convalesce
Sever the ties, the stitches that they used
To bind me down, I’m ready now
To fly away
AfterWake is one of the dopest up-and-coming prog bands in Toronto, and we've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them. TIL is melodic, bouncy, groovy, and emotional in all the right ways. KOZEN
Polarity are veterans in the Toronto prog & rock scene and they've been like our older siblings - we've played with them more than any other band. Proggy, melodic, and powerful. KOZEN
Arrowheads are our brothers from Quebec. We toured with their old band We Throw Flowers back in 2017, and their new project delivers undeniable metalcore/post-hardcore greatness. KOZEN
