(To The Wind is about a person who lives in a fortress made out of words. The walls are statements, beliefs, ideas, and they serve to isolate those inside, and keep others out. One day, the wind blows open a window and begins to tear out the bricks that are untrue words. The character embraces this and begins to tear out every word that isn't true, even if it means tearing the whole thing down to the foundation.
It's about the willingness to knock down one's own misconceptions in pursuit of the truth, the fear of living a lie, of living in the shadow of a self-made Tower of Babel, and the wide-eyed wonder of a genuinely open mind.)
lyrics
Throw it away to the wind and start again
We built a wall made out of words
To try to keep us safe
We built that wall into towers
With keepers at the gates
Now I want to find out what is real
Not just what they told me I should feel
I saw a light from the outside
A window opened wide
And if I don’t belong here in this place
Let the walls give way; they can’t keep me safe
And if the words are wrong, find out what’s fake
Throw it away to the wind and start again
Backspace on bricks around the frame
Remove the windowpanes
The wind could blow this house away
Erase the phrases out of place
My faith, my heart rose to the wind
And I don’t know where it will lead me
I don’t know where to begin
But I’ll take my chances just to find a firmer foundation
And if I don’t belong here in this place
Let the walls give way; they can’t keep me safe
And if the words are wrong, find out what’s fake
Throw it away to the wind and start again
Let the walls give way
Let the walls give way
Backspace what’s fake, throw it away
They can’t keep me safe
I’ll hold to my faith and find a new way
I’ll find a new way
And if I don’t belong here in this place
Let the walls give way; they can’t keep me safe
And if the words are wrong, find out what’s fake
Throw it away to the wind and start again
And if I don’t belong here in this place
Throw it away to the wind and start again
And if the words are wrong, find out what’s fake
Throw it away to the wind and start again
AfterWake is one of the dopest up-and-coming prog bands in Toronto, and we've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them. TIL is melodic, bouncy, groovy, and emotional in all the right ways. KOZEN
Polarity are veterans in the Toronto prog & rock scene and they've been like our older siblings - we've played with them more than any other band. Proggy, melodic, and powerful. KOZEN
Arrowheads are our brothers from Quebec. We toured with their old band We Throw Flowers back in 2017, and their new project delivers undeniable metalcore/post-hardcore greatness. KOZEN
